Nosey Landlords

Another thing that makes Serbia a village society is how much people allow themselves to ask private questions.

Yesterday, when my landlord was collecting the rent, he entitled himself to walk through my entire apartment, opening all the doors.  This time I knew better and just went along with it.

I've had this happen a few times.  I just come home and landlord is there waiting for me.  wtf.

One landlady threw me out because I was a spy because I travel too much.  I don't even know what to say.

  1. You allow him too much. You should just tell him to wait outside while you bring the money. End of story. That's what I told my landlord. If he starts complaining just tell him that you're paying him to live in that flat, and that it's yours to do whatever you f-ing want in in, as long as you keep paying him and no physical damage is done. End of story.

    1. Glad to help, Vukašin

As for your suggestion, yes, you're right, but I hate how everything always has to be a fight here.

It's a fucking jungle for no reason.

  3. I have to disagree here, you just ran into shitty ass landlords.

We rented 3 apartments before moving into our own place, and in both cases never had an issue with noisy owners.

I guess you rented from people who had too much time on their hands, I rented one place for a Canadian living in Ontario, another place from a biz owner in another city, and the 3rd from a real estate investor that has like 50 apartments and they don't care or micro manage as long as you pay the rent.

    So, here, there's great exceptions.

    1. For every landlord in Canada, there are 50 who have no other source of income.
